Apple opens new concert venue in London: Inside the new space
Apple has opened Apple Music Hall, a new live music venue at Battersea Power Station in London. The 600-capacity venue will host concerts while also giving artists the opportunity to turn their performances into professional audio and video recordings.
According to Apple, the venue features a 48-speaker Spatial Audio system surrounding the audience. The stage, which is about 11.6 meters (38 feet) wide, can be adapted for different concert setups. Artists can perform with a traditional stage layout or in a format that places the audience around the stage.

Professional recordings from a single concert
One of the main features of Apple Music Hall is its ability to record both audio and video during live performances.
Two recording and mixing studios are located behind the stage. Performances can be captured as multitrack recordings and mixed in Spatial Audio.
The venue can also accommodate more than 16 cameras for video production. iPhone video can be captured alongside traditional broadcast cameras.
This means artists can leave after a single concert with a Spatial Audio recording, a broadcast-ready audio mix and multicamera video. Performances can also be livestreamed worldwide on Apple Music.
Inside Battersea Power Station
The design of Apple Music Hall draws on the historic character of Battersea Power Station. Brick walls, arched sections and bronze balconies reflect elements of the former power station's architecture.

A large glass wall offers panoramic views of the concourse inside Battersea Power Station and the River Thames beyond.
Special attention was also given to the venue's acoustics. The bricks used on the walls were selected to help reduce sound reflections during performances.
The stage can accommodate large-scale productions as well as smaller acoustic performances. The venue also includes artist dressing rooms with showers and dedicated space for costumes.

Apple Music Radio moves to Battersea
Apple Music Radio's London studios have also moved to Battersea Power Station alongside the opening of Apple Music Hall.
The new studios will host radio programs, artist interviews, special broadcasts and performances. The facility also includes spaces for DJ mixing, songwriting and band rehearsals.
The first artist scheduled to perform at Apple Music Hall has not yet been announced.
